Editing Audio Clips

Chapter 7 described how to edit audio files on the Timeline. All of those principles apply equally to audio files created by the three tools discussed earlier.

In addition, you can edit audio files with Studio's Clip Properties tool, also discussed in Chapter 7. Since the Audio Clip Properties tool presents a slightly different face when editing a CD-Audio clip and a SmartSound clip, I'll address each separately below.

To edit Audio from a CD

1.

Double-click the Audio track in the Movie window to edit (Figure 11.21).

Studio opens the CD Audio Clip Properties tool (Figure 11.22).

2.

Make the desired edits.

3.

To save edits, click the X in the upper right to close the Clip Properties tool or touch another tool.

To edit a SmartSound clip

1.

Double-click the track to edit it.

Studio opens the SmartSound tool (Figure 11.23).

2.

Make the desired changes and click the Accept Changes button.

Studio makes the changes.
