render your transition


Suppose your preview of the transition wasn't smooth, either because you're working on a slower computer or applied a complex transition. Let's render the transtion so it plays smoothly.

After rendering your transition, Premiere Elements plays the selected work area. It's good practice to overlap the work area before and after the transition as shown in the figure so you can preview your transition in the context of the video surrounding it.

Premiere Elements renders the work area, and displays this message.

Then preview as normal, and playback should be perfect!
