Now that you know the lay of the land, let's capture your video. If your project has multiple source tapes, always use a different name for each tape; otherwise, the automatic numbering system Premiere Elements uses for the captured scenes can get very confusing. If you don't manually stop capturing, Premiere Elements will automatically stop when it reaches the end of the video on the tape. This means that you don't have to stick around to stop the capture process; you can start capturing and then walk away. Premiere Element inserts the video into the Media window, separated into automatically numbered separate scenes. Note that each scene is a separate file on your hard disk. As you can see, I took my own advice and labeled one captured tape "birthday" and the other "clown." This makes finding the desired clips much, much easier. |
