Select Scene Detect and Premiere Elements will create a separate clip for each time you started and stopped the camera during shooting. This can be a real time saver, especially when you shot the tape over a few days or longer, since it breaks the video into the scenes as you shot them. Otherwise, Premiere Elements will show just one clip in the Media window, and you'll have to identify the scenes yourself.

Use these controls to move the video to the desired starting point for your capture. The Shuttle is a real time saver; drag it to the left to rewind, or the right to fast forward. Notice that the camcorder's speed increases as you drag the shuttle further from the middle.
