You can set Agenda View to be displayed against a light-blue background. It's a nice touch that quickly distinguishes Agenda View from other apps. In Agenda View, select Options > Display Options and check the Background Image box.
Calendar is a great application any way you look at it. In fact, you can look at it four different ways: Agenda, Day, Week, and Month. You'll probably use the first two views the most, but each view is useful.

Four ways to check your calendar
Agenda View
Agenda View shows today's events and tomorrow's appointments. This view can also show your most urgent tasks or unread email messages (if an email program is installed). Tap any entry to see its contents.
Day View
Day View shows schedule highlights from a single day. The letters SMTWTFS appear at the top, with arrows pointing left and right. Tap the arrows to jump in one-week increments. To advance a single day, tap that day or press the navigator's right button. Note that this is the only view from which you can create new appointments.
Week View
Scheduled events are marked by shaded bars gray for Unfiled events, colors for other categories. Tap any bar to see details of the event. Week View is great for browsing your calendar to see when you'll be available.
Month View
Use Month View to check your long-term commitments and plans. Each day's events are marked by very small shaded boxes to indicate the amount of time scheduled for each category. Tap any day in the month to go straight to Day View.
