After you've used your handheld for a while, go back through the Contacts menus and take a second look at this chapter. You might learn something useful that you missed the first time around.
Real Life: Contacts notes
Bruce enters birthdays in Contacts so they show up in his Calendar, but what about remembering the presents he's given? He attaches notes to certain contacts and never has to worry about giving someone the same gift twice.
Archive contacts when you delete
To keep a backup of a contact you're deleting from your handheld, keep the Save archive copy on PC box checked.
Merge categories
If you have too many categories, change the name of one to the name of one that already exists. The contacts will merge into that category. If you delete a category, all the contacts in it are assigned to the Unfiled category, meaning you'll have to refile them all.
Go international
Accurate information for international contacts often requires special characters. To enter foreign characters in an application, tap ABC in the writing area to call up the onscreen keyboard. Then tap Int'l. Find financial symbols such as the Euro sign by tapping 123.
Chapter 5: Did you discover how to...
Remember Aunt Karen's birthday, for the first time since 1986?… Hide your doctor's name and phone number?… Attach a note reminding yourself why you have someone's number?… Quickly enter contact info for an entire project team at a company?
