Time and travel

Your handheld's World Clock application helps you keep accurate time even when you're passing through several time zones in a day. There's also a handy Alarm Clock feature with a range of alert sounds to choose from.

Real Life: World Clock

Cathleen lives in a small town in the Midwest, but her consulting job repeatedly takes her to Atlanta and Phoenix. Whenever she gets off the plane, she simply selects the correct city from the primary city pick list. She always uses the alarm clock feature in World Clock and hasn't asked for a wake-up call in years.

Clock

To check the time from any application, tap the Clock icon in the upper-left corner of the writing area.

Check the time

If your handheld is off, press the center button of the navigator to see the clock.

Set the time zone

To change your time zone, open World Clock. Change the top city to one in your time zone. Note that when you change time zones, your Calendar events remain scheduled at their original times.

Display foreign time formats

From the Home screen, select Prefs > Formats. Select an appropriate country. The hour and date conventions of that location are displayed. Change them if you like.

What time is it?

When your handheld is on, the current time is displayed on the Home screen and on the Agenda View of Calendar.

Change the time

From the Home screen, select Prefs > Date & Time to change your current location, set the date, and adjust the time. Change the city on the Location pick list, and the time changes automatically. Or, in World Clock, tap Set Date & Time.

Add your city to World Clock

Tap World Clock on the Home screen. Or, if your handheld is off, press the center navigator button and tap Go to Clock.

From the city pick list in the top part of the screen, select Edit List and tap Add. Select your city from the list and tap OK.

If your city doesn't appear on that list, select a city in the same time zone and tap OK.

On the Edit Location screen, change the name of the city, and tap OK.
