Length: 1 hour , 45 minutes

45 questions total

We have put together this practice exam to help you determine whether you are ready for the exam. The 70-229 exam that this book has been preparing you for is comparable to its predecessor (the 70-029: SQL 7 Design) in difficulty, but there is considerably more focus on the new functions and programming features added in SQL Server 2000. This practice exam should also give you a good idea of the feel of the actual exam. For example, both the live exam and this practice will be somewhat weighted with new features of SQL Server 2000. You will note a strong emphasis on XML, partitioned and indexed views, and user -defined functions, as well as the other new features of the product.

Before taking this practice exam, try to set yourself into a mode that simulates taking the real exam. Time the exam; give yourself exactly one hour and forty-five minutes. Watch the time closely and try to complete the entire practice within the time limit. After you have completed the exam, you can refer to the answers that follow. Along with the answers, we have provided the relevant chapter references within the book and other topics you can cross-reference for more information. Such a thorough review will help you fill any gaps that may be indicated by questions you answered incorrectly. On the whole, the 70-229 questions are somewhat similar to the traditional MCSE-style multiple-choice questions; and several drag-and-drop questions are added for variety.
