SQL Server 2005 Enterprise Edition The Enterprise Edition provides the full feature set available in SQL Server 2005.
SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition The Standard Edition provides the SQL Server core feature set but does not provide all of the enterprise-oriented features that support very large databases and high-end scalability.
SQL Server 2005 Developer’s Edition The Developer Edition provides the same feature set as the Enterprise Edition. However, it is not licensed for production use.
SQL Server 2005 Express SQL Server 2005 Express is the replacement for MSDE. Like MSDE, it can be run royalty free. Unlike MSDE, it does not have a workload governor.
