Summary

Oracle Application Server 10 g gives organizations incredible flexibility when making decisions to move applications to the Web. Oracle has made a great effort to ease the transition to web-based deployments by providing robust support for legacy applications developed with tools not originally designed for web-based deployments such as Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports, and Oracle Discoverer. This chapter has explored the methods available to move Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports, and Oracle Discoverer workbooks and worksheets to the Web along with migration tools that make the process of this transition as seamless and painless as possible. In Chapter 11, we will discuss integrating these legacy components into Portal and how we can exploit the benefits of Oracle Portal pages, templates, and security.
