The RON provides a toolbar just below the menu to provide shortcuts that map directly to menu items for Repository actions. Table 31.1 lists the RON-specific buttons on this toolbar.

The RON menus enable you to initiate all actions available in the RON. The menus also provide a driver for initiating any of the other Designer/2000 tools.
The File menu provides basic application options, which you've seen with other Windows applications, and these Repository actions:
Load | Loads object definitions from a text file into the current application hierarchy |
Unload | Creates a text file record of all owned Repository entries and records any associations or shared entries |
Unload for Exchange | Creates an input file for Oracle*Exchange to import Repository items into third-party products a text file |
Check Out | Unloads user -defined sets and the elements in them to a text file |
Check In | Loads user-defined sets ”updated or new entries ”in a file into the Repository |
Lock Set | Locks elements in a user-defined set so that they cannot be updated |
Unlock Set | Unlocks elements in a user-defined set so that they can be updated |
Change Connection | Logs on as a new user |
The Edit menu provides basic editing capabilities, plus these RON-specific options:
Copy Properties | Copies selected properties to the clipboard |
Paste Properties | Pastes copied properties to the current property sheet |
View Copied Properties | Provides a dialog box to preview properties that have been copied prior to pasting |
Preferences | Specifies RON preferences |

The View menu provides some Repository-viewing preferences. Table 31.2 lists these options.

If you have made modifications to the Repository via one of the tools, and the changes do not appear in the Repository, you need to choose View Requery. If these modifications still do not appear, do the same thing from the application-level name at the top node of the hierarchy tree. |
The Navigator menu enables you to perform all hierarchy navigation. Table 31.3 lists these options.

The Application menu enables you to perform application-specific operations and maintenance. This menu requires the Manager role to be set in the Repository Administration utility for the user. Table 31.5 lists the Application menu options.
