System Requirements

To compile the samples for this book, you will need the following:

• Windows 2000, Windows NT 4.0, or Windows 98 (Windows 2000 with Service Pack 1 is recommended.)
• Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 (Service Pack 3 or later is recommended.)
• Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0
• Microsoft Platform SDK (Required files from the Platform SDK are included on the companion CD.)

To run the code samples, you will need one of the following configurations:

• Windows 2000 Server or Windows 2000 Advanced Server with Active Directory installed. (Windows 2000 Service Pack 1 is recommended.)
• A networked client computer running Windows 98, Windows NT 4.0, or Windows 2000 that is joined to a Windows 2000 domain. If the client computer is running Window 98 or Windows NT 4.0, the Active Directory Client must also be installed. The Active Directory Clients are available on the companion CD.

Some code samples require Windows 2000 and some samples require that you have administrative privileges.
