Chapter 4: Working with Slide Text

Overview

In this chapter you will learn to:

  • Add and manipulate text.

  • Change size , alignment, and spacing.

  • Find and replace text and fonts.

  • Correct text while typing.

  • Check spelling and presentation styles.

  • Choose the best word.

In Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003, you can add text directly to the slides of a presentation and then modify the text to fine-tune your message. You have complete control over the placement and position of slide text. With PowerPoint, you have several alternatives for placing text in text objects on your slides:

  • Text placeholders for entering slide titles and subtitles

  • Text labels for short notes and phrases

  • Word processing boxes for longer text.

You can also place text inside objects such as circles, rectangles, or stars.

In this chapter, you will create several kinds of text objects. You will also edit text, change its appearance, find and replace words and phrases, and replace fonts. You will watch PowerPoint correct errors as you type them, check spelling, check presentation styles, and use the Thesaurus to find the word that best suits your presentation.
