If you like to experiment, you've probably tried to create a few objects on your own before even reading this chapter. And if you've read the first two chapters of this book and have understood the basic way in which AutoCAD operates, drawing objects should be easy to understand.
Things do get tricky, however, when you start to use hatch patterns and gradient shading. If you find you need to draw hatch patterns and gradient fills, you'll want to study the sections that cover those topics more carefully. Also, curved lines can be difficult to master without some practice, so try using spline-fit polylines and splines before you use them in a "serious" drawing.
The layout tools also take a little practice, and you might find that you don't use them that frequently. But when you need them, they are indispensable, so it's a good idea to at least be aware of them and remember where they are in this book for a quick reference.
