Reed ElsevierReed Elsevier, a worldwide printing company, engaged HP and Microsoft in its global deployment of Windows Server 2003 and became a shining example for others to follow. The company was willing to share its complete set of documents used for the design, which I used extensively in Chapters 3, 4, 5, and 6. In particular, I incorporated Reed Elsevier's excellent examples of the design team responsibilities in Chapter 3 and deployment documents called "Build Guides" in Chapter 6. I want to publicly express gratitude to Nigel Leany (Technical Consultant) and Chris Price (Programme Manager) of HP, and Nigel Stevens, Senior Vice President of Reed Elsevier Enterprise Technology Services for providing assistance, documentation, and permission to use the case study information. This case study proved to be a very important part of Chapters 3 through 6. Reed Elsevier's case study is posted on HP's Web site at http://h18000.www1.hp.com/casestudies/stories/reedelsevier/story.html and on Microsoft's site at http://www.microsoft.com/resources/casestudies/CaseStudy.asp?CaseStudyID=14736. Reed Elsevier's corporate Web site is at http://www.reedelsevier.com. |
