Summary

 <  Day Day Up  >

When configuring remote services, it is critical to ensure the safety of the corporate network and plan for the impact of the deployment. With any integrated project, the architect must consider all dependencies involved with the project and factor them into the overall plan. Do not be misled with the ease of configuring Windows Server 2003 as the remote solution. Take the time and plan, document, and test the deployment before moving it into production. It is much more difficult to support remote users (because they are disbursed outside of the office), so the last thing an Administrator will want to do is a redeployment. It is very important that the design consider what an appropriate level of security is for the remote clients . Implementing that actual piece of the VPN servers is fairly easy, but the dependencies, ranging from the network configuration, to firewalls, to LDAP servers, to the user 's accounts in the AD, must be considered .

The combination of Windows Server 2003 and HP ProLiant servers offers great value for a corporation because the price and performance are tremendous.
