Customizing the Program Neighborhood Interface and Recognizing ICA Toolbar Icons

• The three views in Program Neighborhood are the Application Set Manager, Custom Connection, and Default views.

• The Default View is set by right-clicking an Application Set and selecting Set As Default.

• Use Bitmap Caching to speed up slow connections.

• The available protocols in PN are TCP/IP, TCP/IP+HTTP, IPX/SPX, and NetBIOS.

• The Use Alternate Address For Firewall Connection check box allows you to connect Citrix server behind a firewall.

• Use altaddr.exe to set an alternate (public) address on a server.

• Data compression reduces the amount of bandwidth, but increases processor utilization.

• The encryption options in PN are Basic, 128-bit Logons Only, 40-bit, 56-bit, and 128-bit.

• Only Win32 and Java clients support the Application Set Manager.

• Use an ICA PassThrough to publish PN to non-PN clients.

• Client LPT and COM port mapping is not supported when using ICA PassThrough.

• A seamless window will make the application appear to be running on the local client machine, and a remote desktop window will run the application inside a window.

• The Up toolbar button allows the user to change views from Custom ICA Connections to Application Set Manager, or from Application Set Manager to the default view.

• The Refresh toolbar button queries the ICA Master Browser for the latest information or application set.

• The Delete toolbar button will delete the selected item(s).

• The Properties toolbar button displays the properties of a selected custom connection or a published application.

• The Settings toolbar button displays the connection settings and options of a custom connection, published application, or application group.

• The Views toolbar button switches the current PN view between Large Icons, Small Icons, List, and Details.
