Identifying Features of Citrix Server Administration

  • The Citrix Server Administration tool is used to manage ICA settings, ICA gateways, and processes of Citrix servers.

  • ICA sessions can be viewed, reset, disconnected, logged off, shadowed, and connected to from within the Citrix Server Administration tool.

  • The context pane of the Citrix Server Administration tool controls the contents of the detail pane.

Shadowing with the Shadow Taskbar

  • The Shadow Taskbar can shadow multiple ICA sessions simultaneously.

  • Citrix administrators can use the Shadow Taskbar to shadow sessions from the console of a Citrix server.

  • The ICA client on the Citrix server creates a separate ICA session for each user that is being shadowed.

  • The Shadow Taskbar can be configured for shadowing ICA sessions over alternate ICA ports.

Creating Connections with the Citrix Connection Configuration

  • ICA and RDP connections can be created, viewed, and edited using the Citrix Connection Configuration tool.

  • The Citrix Connection Configuration tool can be used for restricting the number of sessions allowed by a connection.

  • Control the security and encryption settings of ICA and RDP connections.

Configuring the SpeedScreen Latency Reduction Manager

  • The SpeedScreen Latency Reduction Manager is used to enhance user experience over slow network connections.

  • SpeedScreen settings can be configured for Citrix servers, applications, and input fields of applications.

  • SpeedScreen settings configured for an application will override any settings that have been configured for a Citrix server.

  • By default, local text echoing is turned off, and mouse click feedback is turned on.
