This chapter detailed the basic troubleshooting commands for the Cisco Set/Clear and CLI IOSs used on Cisco's Catalyst switches. It also provided a basic explanation of Spanning Tree Protocol, possible cabling problems, and the switch module LEDs. This chapter covered many aspects of switching, including parts of the switching architecture, the switch functions, and commands available to monitor those functions.
