If you see a New dialog box, click the type of document you want to create and then click the OK button.
A new document is displayed.
INTRODUCTION
When you want a new "sheet" of paper, you can create a new document. Many programs prompt you to select a template on which to base the new document. A template is a predesigned document. You can select the template, if prompted, and create the new document.

Shortcut
As a shortcut, you can click the New button to create a new document based on the default template.

Exceptions
For complex programs such as PowerPoint and Access, you might be prompted to make some selections before the new document is created. Use your program documentation for help for creating new documents with these programs.
