Task 4: Switching Between Programs

After you've started two programs, look at the taskbar. You should see a button for each program.

Click the button for the program you want to switch to (in this case, Paint ).

That program becomes the active program.

INTRODUCTION

You may often work with more than one type of program at the same time. Windows XP enables you to quickly switch from one program to another. For example, you might want to compare price figures from an Excel worksheet with a price list you've set up in Word. You might want to copy text from a WordPad document to a Paint picture. Switching between programs enables you not only to compare data, but also to share data among programs.

TIP

Close a Program

To close a program, use the File, Exit command or click the Close ( x ) button for the program window.
