INTRODUCTION
Although Windows XP enables you to pin programs to your Start menu (as described in Task 2, "Pinning a Program to the Start Window"), it is the Classic view that offers users the most control and flexibility when it comes to organizing the Start menu. In order for you to add programs to specific folders on the Start menu, to delete programs from the Start menu, to create new folders on the Start menu, and to move programs from one folder to another on the Start menu, you must switch to the Classic-style menu.
Click the folder in which you want to place the program, and click the Next button.
Type a name for menu entry.
Click the Finish button. The program is added to the Start menu.
TIP
Use the Browse Button
If you don't know where the location of the program you want to add (refer to step 6), click the Browse button, and then select the folder and the program name from the Browse dialog box.
TIP
Add New Folder
You can click the New Folder button in step 7 to add a new folder to your Start menu structure (see Task 4, "Adding Programs to the Classic Start Menu," for more information).
TIP
Close the Dialog Boxes
Click the OK button to close the Customize Classic Start Menu dialog box. Then click OK to close the Taskbar and Start Menu Properties dialog box.
