Click Start, All Programs, Accessories , and then click Command Prompt .
Type the desired command and press Enter .
You see the results of the command you typed.
INTRODUCTION
There may be times when you want to access the DOS prompt from Windows XP. For example, you might want to run a DOS application or use DOS commands. Alternatively, you might have programs that run in DOS. Windows XP provides a DOS prompt window that you can open while working in Windows.
TIP
Enlarge the Window
Press Alt+Enter to enlarge the DOS window to full screen. Press Alt+Enter again to restore the DOS window to its original size.
TIP
Close the DOS Prompt
When you are finished working in DOS mode, type exit and press Enter to close the MS-DOS Prompt window.
