Keeping Time and Expense Information for a Task

After you've created a new task or opened an existing one, click the Details tab in the Tasks window.

Type the completion date in the Date Completed field or click the down-arrow button next to the field and choose a date from the minicalendar that appears.

Type the total work (the total time you estimate the project will take) and the actual work (the actual time spent on the task) into the respective fields.

INTRODUCTION

Many professionals, such as lawyers and accountants , charge clients an hourly rate. If you bill in a similar way, you can use Outlook to track the amount of time you spend on various tasks. In addition, you can also use Outlook to track expense factors such as mileage.

Keep track of mileage by typing an amount into the Mileage text box.

Enter any other miscellaneous billing information into the Billing Information field.

To keep track of the company or companies associated with the task, type their names into the Companies field.

Click Save and Close .
