Select the column you want to move.

Drag the column to its new location. As you drag, you see a vertical line.

When the vertical line is in the desired location, release the mouse button. The column is moved.

INTRODUCTION

If you want, you can change the order of the columns in your table. You might do this if you discover that another column order works better for data entry. Note, however, that changing the order of the columns in Datasheet view does not alter the structure of the table itself (to change that, see Part 4).

TIP

Selecting Other Columns ?

If, when you drag, you accidentally select additional columns instead of moving the intended column, make sure that you click the column first to select it. Then release the mouse button and commence with the dragging operation.
