After you open the report you want to modify in Design view, click the Line button in the Control toolbox.
Move the mouse pointer to the area on the report where you want to draw the line, click, and drag. When the line is the desired length, release the mouse button; the line is added.
To draw a rectangle, click the Rectangle button in the Control toolbox.
INTRODUCTION
In addition to adding text and fields, you can also include graphical elements in your reports using certain tools in the Control toolbox. One such tool is the Line tool, which you can use to draw a line to separate columns or to separate the report title from the report. Alternatively, you can use the Rectangle tool to draw a box around a label to add emphasis.
Move the mouse pointer to the area on the report where you want to draw the rectangle, click, and drag. When the box is the desired size, release the mouse button; the box is added.
Click the Save button on the Standard toolbar in the main Access window to save the report.

Straight Line, Perfect Square
To draw a straight line or perfect square, hold down the Shift key as you drag.

Using the Undo Command
To get rid of a line or box you've added to your report, open the Edit menu and choose Undo immediately after you add it. Alternatively, click the line or box to select it and then press the Delete key on your keyboard.
