IN THIS CHAPTER
Windows XP provides many customization options so that you can personalize your computer. Some of these changes are practical. For instance, if you are left-handed, you can change the mouse buttons so that the buttons work for the left hand. If you have trouble seeing the display, you can alter the size (the resolution) of the desktop. If you prefer the taskbar on another part of the desktop, you can move it. Other changes are purely personal. For instance, you may want to display a wallpaper image on your desktop, or you may want to change the sounds that are played for system events (such as shutdown). This chapter covers the most common customization changes. The other chapters in this part of the book cover other customizing options, specifically for setting up programs and for customizing email and Internet Explorer. |
