Windows XP includes more than just the necessary tools and programs to be your operating system. Windows XP also comes packed with several other programs, such as an email program (covered in Chapter 7, "Sending and Receiving Email"), an Internet browser (covered in Chapter 8, "Browsing the Internet"), a fax program (covered in Chapter 10, "Sending and Receiving Faxes"), a music player (covered in Chapter 11, "Playing Music"), and several others.

This chapter focuses on some of the other accessory programs included with Windows XP. Although they won't replace your need for full-fledged programs, they do serve some simple purposes. They are also great for tinkering around and experimenting. Many program skillscopying text, selecting a menu command, and undoing changeswork the same way in all programs. Use this chapter to explore some of Windows XP's accessory programs.
