Fill with the Foreground ColorMenu: Edit Fill Mac: Option + Delete Win: Alt + Backspace Mouse: Bucket tool This command fills the entire contents of the active layer or selection with the foreground color, unless the Preserve Transparency (Lock Transparent Pixels in Photoshop 6 and 7) check box is turned on in the Layers palette. Fill with the Foreground Color While Preserving TransparencyMenu: Edit Fill Mac: Option + Shift + Delete Win: Alt + Shift + Backspace This command changes the color of the layer only where there are actual pixels. All transparent areas are unchanged. This is an extremely efficient way to change the color of text on a Type layer. Note: Type layers always have Preserve Transparency (Lock Transparent Pixels check box in Photoshop 6 and 7) turned on, so you can use the regular fill shortcuts. However, I recommend you remember this shortcut instead because it still works. That way, you only have to remember one shortcut for changing the color of type, whether it is a Type layer, or a Type layer that has been rasterized.
