Performing IEV Database Administration Functions

IEV allows you to export event tables for analysis with another tool such as a spreadsheet or database application. You may also import IDS log files from an archive, for example, for analysis using IEV.

You export and import files from the File menu. Choose Database Administration, Export Database Tables to open the Export Database Tables window, and choose whether you want the data exported as a comma-separated value (CSV) file or separated by tabs. To import log files, choose Database Administration, Import Log Files. Again, specify whether the format of the log file to be imported is CSV or separated by tabs. You need to also specify whether a new table should be created for the newly imported data or whether you want the imported data appended to an existing table.

You can also view database information, including detailed information about each table in the IEV relational database, by choosing Database Administration, Data Source Information from the File menu. Purge and delete functions, which are accessible at the Data source Information window, allow you to delete events from a table or to delete a table from the database.
