Verifying Multihomed BGP Environment

By this point at the end of these two BGP- related chapters, you should already be familiar with many of the Cisco IOS commands to configure and verify a BGP implementation. You need to practice extensively on real routers or simulators so that you are proficient with the commands used to configure, verify, and debug basic BGP operations, route reflectors, and prefix lists.

Don't forget that you can also use the show ip protocols command to display a list of protocols operating on a router and the interfaces to which the protocols are bound. Furthermore, the show ip protocols command displays information concerning the redistribution of routing table updates communicated between all active routing protocols. To verify end-to-end connectivity on the network you can use the ping command. To verify optimal routing path usage, you can use the traceroute command.
