Summary

This chapter introduces concepts that are important to all fortresses . I have defined three important terms:

1. Scalability , which means that the fortress workload can be increased as necessary.

2. Reliability , which means that the fortress is up and running when I need it.

3. Integrity , which means that the fortress always leaves itself in a consistent state.
