Chapter 9. General Fortress Issues

It is helpful to think of a fortress as being a certain type because the type immediately suggests specific design patterns, implementation algorithms, and appropriate technologies. Some goals are common to all fortresses , regardless of type. Four that come up repeatedly are security, scalability, reliability, and integrity. Security I have already discussed, in Chapter 7 (Guards and Walls). Here I will discuss the other general fortress topics.
