Information Flows


An information item represents some pieces of information that can be exchanged between objects at a fairly high level of abstraction.

Figure 10-6 shows two equivalent notations for an information item.

An information flow is a dependency within which one or more information items circulate from their sources to their targets. The flow doesn't specify the nature of the information or the mechanisms by which the information is conveyed.

Figure 10-7 shows an example of an information flow.
