Chapter 10: Profiles, Templates, and Information Flows

Overview

This chapter discusses topics that don't quite fit into the preceding discussion, yet are important elements of the UML. The following topics are presented:

  • Profiles, which are stereotyped packages that contain elements customized for a particular domain or purpose

  • Templates, which provide ways to create families of model elements such as classes, packages, and collaborations

  • Information flows, which provide ways to circulate information between objects at a fairly high level of abstraction
