Preparing the Project

To get started in Lesson 10, launch Final Cut Pro, and then open the project for this lesson.

1.	Choose File > Open, or press Cmd-O, and select the Lesson 10 Project file from the Lessons folder on your hard drive.
2.	Close any other open projects.
3.	In the Timeline, play the open Intro Cuts sequence. This is the Intro sequence you edited in Lesson 4. Each clip cuts from one to the next. For the finished A Thousand Roads movie, the editor added transitions between many of these shots.
4.	Click the Dissolves Finished sequence tab in the Timeline, and play this sequence. This is the same sequence as the Intro Cuts sequence, but video dissolves have been applied to the edit points. Notice that the tracks have been customized so the V1 and A1 tracks you will use in these lessons are taller, and those tracks you won't use are smaller. You will add audio fades between some of the A1 clips later in this lesson.
5.	To save a copy of the original Intro Cuts sequence to use throughout this lesson, duplicate it in the Browser, and rename it Intro Cuts Backup.
