The flexibility of Final Cut Express allows you to edit clips in different ways. You can drag a clip to the Edit Overlay in the Canvas or click a shortcut button, such as F9 or F10. These editing approaches automatically place the clip in the Timeline at the playhead location. A more "manual" approach is drag-and-drop editing, where you can drag a clip from the Viewer and drop it directly into the Timeline to make an edit. Once a clip is in the Timeline, you can select it, move it, or copy and paste it directly in the Timeline. Drag-and-drop editing is an easy yet powerful way to edit your sequence.
