Answers

1.

You can double-click to open it, or select it and press Return.

2.

In the Timeline track control area.

You can drag the clip from the Viewer into the Canvas and drop it on the Overwrite section of the Edit Overlay, or you can press F10.

All the remaining clips are pushed down the length of the clip you are inserting.

5.

Ctrl-click on the sequence in the Browser and choose Duplicate from the shortcut menu.

6.

Choose Final Cut Express HD > User Preferences. In the User Preferences window, click the Timeline Options tab and make the changes in the appropriate area.

7.

No Video tab appears in the Viewer when you open an audio-only clip.
