Preparing the Project

To get started, launch Final Cut Express and then open the project for this lesson.

1.	From within Final Cut Express, choose File > Open, or press Cmd-O, and choose the Lesson 13 Project file from the Lessons folder on your hard drive.
2.	Close any open projects.
3.	In the Timeline, play the Audio Needs Work sequence. In this sequence, the audio levels are not very consistent and are not mixed together well. They need some adjusting, which you will do throughout this lesson. You are working with three audio tracks. In this lesson, tracks 1 and 2 are used for stereo music and DV clips; track 3 is used for single-channel sound effects.
