The pleasant task of translating this excellent book (Übersetzungsvergnügung) was made even more pleasant by the helpful and friendly collaboration of the author. Whenever I found myself entangled in the briar patch of German syntax, I simply launched a query across the reaches of cyberspace, and soon thereafter I received a message from Michael Welschenbach providing the necessary decryption algorithm.
