15.4. Validating and Testing the Solution

 < Day Day Up >

After all of the components are installed, configured, and complete, you must test that everything works together as planned. Create a checklist of functions that adequately represent typical daily usage.

For the user, you must validate the following:

  • Server log in

  • Access to project data

  • Access to server resources

  • Access denied to restricted resources

For the administrator, you must validate the following:

  • Server log in

  • Determining access to project data

  • Determining access to server resources

  • User and group creation and modification

  • System modification

  • System log access

The successful completion of these tasks indicates that the solution delivered is what was promised. Although this work is over, it is important to maintain the relationship with the customer by describing the ways that HP can still provide value to the business.
