Selecting the EAR File to Export


  • Return to the WebFacing perspective in WebSphere Development Studio Client.

  • Select File Export from the workbench menu bar.

The Select page of the Export wizard opens (Figure A.2).

  • Select the EAR file icon.

An EAR file is a compressed Enterprise Application Archive, and it contains all the files needed for the Web application.

  • Click the Next push button.

Completing the EAR File Export Information

The EAR Export page opens (Figure A.3).

  • Select the name of the resources you used when creating your WebFacing project from the combination box drop-down list. This should be wflabxxEAR.

  • In the Where do you want to export the resources to? field, specify where to put the EAR file by entering the drive and directory structure of your Web server. It should look something like this: x:\qibm\UserData\wflabxx, where x: is the drive letter of the iSeries network drive that you mapped in the previous step.

  • Select the Override existing files without warning check box.

  • Click the Finish push button to copy the files to the EAR file.

If a message asks you to create a directory or delete an existing file,

  • Click the OK push button or Yes to continue.
