Conclusion


Whether we like it or not, modern society has a significant (and increasing) dependence upon information technology. This chapter has sought to suggest that, as a result of this, we face a number of immediate and long- term threats that need to be recognised in order for protective action to be taken. But, in conclusion, the case studies have shown that the impact of computer abuse is limited, but the ethical dilemmas posed are vast.
