Although employee monitoring has its benefits to employers , it has limited, if any, benefits to employees . However, as cited throughout this chapter, without some form of employee monitoring in the high technology workplace, companies might pay heavy costs ranging from employees misusing workplace technologies to less productivity. One wonders, though, if employee monitoring is the best management style there is. If that is the case, maybe it is time to try out other management styles, because employee management is very controversial and likely to remain so.
