Object Model Security Levels

 <  Day Day Up  >

The InfoPath object model, which is described in Chapter 18, "The InfoPath Object Model," assigns security levels to objects and their methods . You wouldn't want, for example, an arbitrary form to be capable of writing to your hard disk with an unknown payload.

The InfoPath object model has three security levels called levels 0, 2, and 3:

  • Methods and properties that have a security level of 0 can be accessed by all InfoPath form templates without any restriction.

  • Methods and properties that have security level 2 can be accessed only by forms running in the same domain as the current form, or by forms to which cross-domain permissions have been granted.

  • Methods and properties that have security level 3 can be accessed only by fully trusted forms.

SECURITY LEVELS

The online InfoPath Help files on the InfoPath object model detail the security level for each method and property of the InfoPath object model.
