Summary

Although public folders are a very useful feature of Exchange and make Exchange more than just an email server, public folders are often underutilized by companies and organizations. With a little effort, care, and maintenance, administrators can deploy public folders as the basis for information-sharing applications, such as document management and distribution, and to disseminate company information, company vision and initiatives, and to collaborate on projects across the entire organization regardless of location.
