Let Me Clearly State, Right off the Top

Let Me Clearly State, Right off the Top . . .
Let me clearly state, right off the top, that I myself am a composer of Modern Music and, as a result, could be accused of having a conflict of interest in writing a book encouraging you, dear reader and lover of our most glorious sound art  namely, music  to listen to Modern Music  namely, MINE!
Well, nothing could be further from the truth. The Maestro  or Colli, as I call him after an evening of one too many Stoney Ripples at the Ox & Udder  has instructed me thoroughly in the discipline of being able to
LIFT YOURSELF ABOVE
the sordid specifics of your own personal miasma and
PRESENT THE LARGER PICTURE
and that's what I will do, dear reader, with complete diffident and indifferent disinterestedness (or else close to it). I'll be probing and prodding with that same fearless searchlight I used in my examination of concert going* so this is
NO SELF-INTERESTED PROMOTION OF MY OWN MUSIC
Second, I hasten to assure you that this in not an
OLD FUDDY-DUDDY DIATRIBE
on ''WHY AREN'T THINGS THE WAY THEY USED TO BE? HMMMM???"
No sir! This is
a) a Tribute
b) a Love call
c) a Challenge
d) a Shout from the barn rafters
to
EXPOSE YOURSELF
to Modern Music, that is, and soon you'll be itching to lay down that $6.53 for the best seats in the hall (Four Square) (except for seat 13F' cause there's a splinter that'll rip more than your Fruits of the Loom) in order to hear the LATEST composition by a LIVING composer, whose ink is barely dry.
I admit, right off the top, that music today is in
A BIT OF A MUDDLE!
There are pieces of music swirling about, that, if they were beef, they would never pass government inspection. They're simply 'off,' or, to put it in other words  Keep your earplugs on!
*entitled: How to Stay Awake During Anybody's Second Movement**
**Thank you for the letters. Both of them. Except you, Irvin Tornquist. I thought your diatribe was bitter. Typical, but bitter. Tsk, tsk.
