Who else but the magnanimous soul of such a Renaissance man as our illustrious Maestro Colli Albani would think of a soupcan (oops, I meant soup on) of wisdom on the topic mentioned above? I tell you, in all honesty, dear pursuer of the arts, that NO ONE in the 20th century has ever thought to write about it and so, yet, another first for this current tome.
Stemming, comme d'habitude from personal experience, there are essentially two (2) points to be made here vis- -vis modern music and animals and they are
1. Listening to
and 2. Participating in
and I shall discuss them in that order.
FIRSTLY: PROBLEMS AND POSSIBLE DISASTROUS RESULTS OF CERTAIN ANIMALS (ESPECIALLY HIGH-STRUNG ONES) LISTENING TO CERTAIN TYPES OF MODERN MUSIC
Following Colli's sage motto "Start with the concrete, then abstract," I shall relate the incident that gave rise to point number one:
Chezlee, Ont.. is (and always has been) a LEARNING COMMUNITY. Seminars, discussions, lectures and workshops abound in great numbers on the vastest array of topics and music, and specifically Modern Music is no exception.
The Maestro and I had been conducting a bimonthly lecture-slash-listening series on Modern Music composers and had decided to do it alphabetically. We were in the midst of our third session namely: Modern Music Composers whose last name begins with the letter C when the "incident" occurred.
