Conclusion

This chapter has given a quick, high-level overview of the Visual Basic .NET language in its entirety. Keep in mind that many of the details of the language were not covered here in the interests of brevity ”the later chapters in the book cover each topic in more thorough detail. However, the hope is that this overview will give the reader enough familiarity with the language to be able to sit down and start writing Visual Basic .NET programs. Having some practical experience with the language before continuing to the more detailed discussions that follow is recommended, but not required.
