15.7 Conclusion

In this chapter we looked at tuning the RAC cluster, starting with the cluster interconnect, which is one of two most important components that could affect performance. We looked at the wait events that affect the cluster in the section on clustered instance tuning. Later in the chapter we discussed the various dynamic performance views that can help determine and troubleshoot performance issues with the RAC implementation.

The next chapter will focus on diagnosis-related tools and utilities that can help in day-to-day operations. The outputs from these tools provide information to Oracle Support when a critical problem such as an ORA-600 error is encountered.
